There will not be a scout meeting next Tuesday, November 10, as I have to attend another meeting that day. We will meet the following Tuesday, November 17 at the regular time. Tuesday, November 24, (Thanksgiving Break), Mr. Davis is cooking a Thankingiving lunch at his house for all of the scouts. Scouts need to arrive around 11 AM and we will eat lunch at noon. Mr. Davis will cook his "famous" turkey in the ground. A campout for December has been tentatively set for December 12 & 13 at wil Rogers Scout Reservation. More information will be given at upcoming troop meetings. Just a brief note to let everyone know that I informed the boys and other troop leaders on Tuesday that I plan on retiring as Scoutmaster effective January 1, 2010. I have enjoyed being a scoutleader but I will be 64 years old and my health is declining. I feel that it is time for a change in leadership. I hope to remain as an Assistant Scoutmaster and I plan on attending Summer Camp and I am still planning a Ouachita Trek for Spring Break. Again thanks for allowing me to work with your sons. It has been great. I look forward to seeing them all obtain their Eagle. |
